A female accused with harassing Kate McCann allegedly left her a phone message which questioned: "suppose I am Madeleine?"

The defendant, twenty-four, who witnesses stated has repeatedly claimed she was the vanished Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are facing charges indicted with pursuing Kate and Gerry McCann between June 2022 and February this year.

On Monday, the tribunal learned phone records and information retrieved from phones logged Ms Wandelt repeatedly demanding Madeleine's mother for a biological test during that period.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - at the age of three during a family holiday in Portugal - is one of the most covered investigations and remains unresolved.

'I Don't Want Money'

A separate phone message, shared in court, recorded Ms Wandelt saying: "I realize I'm heavy and unattractive like Madeleine had been, but I feel what I feel."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's recording stated: "Imagine there is a tiny probability that I am she? Then what? Is that not significant for you?"

"I don't want money, I possess a existence here in Poland, I simply desire to know," the message continued.

The tribunal was informed that via electronic messages, text messages and communications, Ms Wandelt demanded a biological test, sent childhood photos to her phone in a bid to show a similarity to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and asserted to have "memories" from a early life with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, a data specialist with law enforcement who compiled the data, informed the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore reached out to acquaintances of the McCanns, as per the communication logs.

On that date, the father responded to a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "a wrong number."

That day Ms Wandelt deposited a voicemail on Mrs McCann's voicemail saying "I will persist and I plan to establish my claim."

The court was informed the co-defendant developed a relationship online with Ms Wandelt before joining her on a visit to the McCanns' home in the county in last December.

Phone records demonstrated Mrs Spragg had reached out via WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to say the media had depicted Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be taken seriously in the time before the trip to Rothley, Leicestershire, in that winter.

The court heard communications between the two defendants, in last November, discussing attempting to acquire Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her garbage or from utensils at a dining venue.

"We must take action," Mrs Spragg told Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the appearance to their home, the defendant dispatched a text which stated: "We find ourselves sat near the McCanns' residence with our headlights off resembling private investigators. I desired to achieve this with another person I didn't imagine I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The case continues.
