Close to 90 Flights Linked to Jeffrey Epstein Allegedly Came to or from UK Airports
An investigation has uncovered that close to 90 flights associated to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein are said to have touched down at and left British airports, with some reportedly transporting women from the UK who assert they were exploited by the convicted child sex offender.
Aviation Records Reveal Trail of Travel
The travel manifests were among a trove of legal papers and papers released by Epsteinâs estate that have been disclosed over the last year. The analysis uncovered 87 aircraft movements linked to Epstein â featuring many that were hitherto undisclosed â landing or taking off from UK airports between the early 1990s and 2018.
Onboard Individuals and Post-Conviction Travel
Unidentified âfemalesâ were listed among the travelers flying to and from the UK. Significantly, 15 of these British airport journeys occurred following Epsteinâs 2008 guilty verdict for procuring prostitution from a child.
âThis is âappallingâ that there had never been a âfull-scale UK investigationâ into his dealings in the country,â said American attorneys representing hundreds of Epstein survivors.
British Victims and Legal Proceedings
A statement from one of the UK-based survivors helped convict Epsteinâs accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell of child sex-trafficking in the US in 2021. However, that survivor has not been approached by UK authorities, according to her Florida-based lawyer.
In a response, the London's Metropolitan Police stated they had ânot been provided with any additional information that would support restarting the investigation.â They added, âShould new and relevant evidence be brought to our attention, encompassing any resulting from the disclosure of documents in the US, we will review it.â
Ongoing Disclosure and Judicial Decisions
A bill to make public every document held by the US government in concerning Epstein passed the House and Senate last month. The US justice department has until 19 December to follow through. A vast number of papers are expected to be made public.
Additionally, a federal judge decided last week that the DOJ could publicly release investigative materials from a sex-trafficking case against Maxwell, Epsteinâs close friend, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence over the allegations.
