FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Game at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday
Barcelona have announced they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in domestic competition over two years after they moved out so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium earlier this month. Officials stated approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body to host the next European match versus the German side on 9 December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at Estadio OlĂmpic LluĂs Companys.
