Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Claims Involving Player Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player the athlete and had been in contact with the league office.
The organization did not mention the player specifically in their statement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.
Claims Shared on Social Media
Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice by name, shared a series of photos on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She did say the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs selected in the second round.

No official complaints were available in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have occurred.
Rice's Prior Off-Field Troubles
The receiver was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people injured. He was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
On the field, he finished the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
