Liverpool's Star Issues Regret to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has shared that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad following the controversy from his televised remarks.

He was omitted from a key Champions League match subsequent to voicing frustrations and claiming his relationship with manager had deteriorated.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”
The manager has previously declined to disclose on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.

Jones insisted that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” he continued.
Jones also implied that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “It's clear there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
The team's performance have been impressive in the period after the situation. Jones believes the forward's comments were never meant to harm the team.
“If passion has boiled over, the source has been from a place of caring,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, performing and starting to win games.”
