Air travel have restarted at Edinburgh Airport following a major technical issue at the control tower brought the international hub to a standstill.

Every arrival and departure were halted after an systems problem that arose around 08:30.

A number of travelers found themselves stranded in planes on the runway while the issue persisted.

Services Recommence with Ongoing Delays

A statement indicated at 10:40 that operations had restarted, and thanked passengers for their "patience and understanding".

Nonetheless, significant disruption are expected to continue throughout the day. Flights to key destinations like Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, and Bristol have been called off, with numerous other services experiencing delays.
