Acclaimed young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the company said: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was taken subsequent to an investigation into reports of conduct deemed unsuitable towards women.

The company did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

He has published in excess of 40 works altogether, encompassing a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
