The Opening Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Reveal Xbox Remains Committed.

In numerous discussions, commentators persist in tolling the funeral bells for Microsoft's gaming division. Xbox was recently outsold by a platform few have heard of. Dedicated Xbox communities are now publishing content about PlayStation unprecedentedly. Last year proved to be a period of total upheaval for Xbox and Microsoft. Yet, based exclusively on what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it becomes clear that the green gaming company remains determined to draw people in with strong games on its flagship service.

The Available Now Titles

The two games currently accessible as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's deserving of attention.

Significant Forthcoming Releases

Starting January 13th, the subscription service will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that refreshes conventional open-world tropes with a cosmic robbery tale. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of terror and combat."

Compelling Indie Titles

However, the more modest titles coming to Game Pass soon deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that's a blast to play, arrives January 7th — and it's worth experiencing whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

This UK-developed survival title from last year may draw you in within just a quarter of an hour.

Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the makers of Sniper Elite, also warrants your attention. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.

A Solid, Curated Lineup

In summary, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they don't represent tentpole Microsoft studios games that justify the service alone. But Microsoft's additions here are very dependable. There's a good mixture of old games you might have missed and fairly new titles that lacked the recognition they were due initially — which makes them excellent choices to get a second chance on Game Pass.

Hope you're ready to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
